Welcome to the MONAD app; A New Paradigm of Time.
The MONAD Calendar-Clock app is a Stage 2 prototype, meaning it’s not yet fully developed, but it is more advanced than your typical prototype. MONAD already has many useful and educational features, so you might as well get started using it. Start by watching the video below, then for more details you can read the rest of this page.
MONAD has four main Modes of operation (Helio, Geo, Astro & Event) and all four Modes have useful features that you can explore right now. Helio & Geo Modes feature a 3 dimensional Calendar-Clock face, while Astro & Event Modes feature a 2 dimensional Calendar-Clock face. A two dimensional Calendar-Clock may provide less information than a 3-D Calendar-Clock, but it provides a very important functionality in Astro & Event Mode.

Astro Mode
You simply Drag the “Wheel of Time” to set the time and date. There are 3 different drag zones:
- Drag the Hour Hand (inside the 24 hour Number Dial) 15º per hour, one revolution per day. The Earth revolves at a rate of 1º every 4 minutes.
- If you want to set a date in the near past or future, drag the Calendar Band at a rate of one revolution every 2 months.
- Drag the Zodiac Band one revolution per year, if you want to set a date in the distant past or future. The years unfurl as fast as you can spin.
The Astro Mode Table provides you with both astronomical and astrological information, including the precise location of the Sun, Moon and planets (Declination & Right Ascension) at any time and date. Every moment in time MONAD generates the equivalent of an astronomical or astrological chart.
[For those of you used to interpreting astrology charts, the orientation of an astrology chart is such that the midhaven is always aligned vertically at the top of the chart. In Astro Mode, the Hour Hand is equivalent to the midhaven, so to orient the chart so that it is familiar, simply rotate the MONAD screen until the Hour Hand is pointing straight up.]
Astro Mode will eventually feature both a Scientific Astrology Program and an Educational Astronomy Program, the likes of which you have never seen before. Check out Stage 4 Programming goals if you want to see some of the new additions that are coming to Astro, Geo and Helio Modes.
You can learn a great deal about astronomy, space and time, by using MONAD, but the one feature you will probably find most useful on a daily basis is the scheduling program, which is located in:
Event Mode
The MONAD Event Manager allows you to create and manage both Health and Regular (calendar) events. MONAD, with a 24 hour circadian clock face, is especially suited to create, organize and display Health events. MONAD is all about biorhythms, both personal and planetary biorhythms. Health Event Mode is where you record your personal biorhythms in the context of planetary biorhythms we all share. Health Event Mode is where you can create and maintain a Chronobiological Health Journal.

Health Event Mode
Health Event Mode allows a User to create 4 color-coded categories of Health Events associated with the four elements: EARTH is green (Sleep), WATER is blue (Eat), AIR is purple (Move) and FIRE is red (Think). Sleep & Eat are associated with parasympathetic activities; Move & Think are associated with sympathetic activities. As such, the organization of color-coded Health Event Wedges placed around the number dial, based on the rhythmic re-occurrence of various Health Events, describes various endocrine biorhythms. (To better understand the significance and value of these endocrine biorhythm, check out the following links: Chronobiology and Autonomic Alternation.)
MONAD is synchronized with the Apple Health app. Health data (like Steps and Sleep times) imported from the Apple Health app (HealthKit) is used for display within the MONAD app. When you carry an iPhone, your Steps are recorded automatically and Step Wedges are shown in purple (part of Move), between the numbers of the 24 hour Number Dial and the inside surface of the dial. Placement of Step Wedges can be very helpful in helping you remember the activities of your day.
When you’re ready to get started and use MONAD to create your own Chronobiological Health Journal, then check out this Screen Recording Video where I demonstrate how to record Health Events.
It’s quick and easy to document your day, making MONAD the ultimate memory enhancement device. It’s easier than keeping a written journal and provides more context. Start by recording (in Health Mode) your sleep period; it takes just a few seconds before you go to bed and after you wake up. Meals are just as easy, and it is quite enlightening to thoroughly and accurately record not only the times you eat but the content of your meals. When you eat can be just as important as what you eat.
Use the Move Category to record not only physical exercise like going for a walk or playing tennis, but also transportation, like when you go shopping or driving in a car here and there. Just make the Title memorable and add Notes as needed and it’s easy to scan back through your Day Charts and remember what you did that day.
Further Stage 3 programming of Health Event Mode will make this feature much more powerful and easier to use, greatly reducing the burden of data entry. MONAD will offer summary screens and chronobiological suggestions for improving your health, but don’t wait, you might as well get started now, and start learning about the all important rhythm of events that make up your life.

Tap Into The Power Of NOW.
MONAD offers a new experience of now. Create (“Start”) events now; “End” events at a later now. When you see “Rec •” underneath the [NOW] button, that indicates an Event Wedge is building. While the event is building (or recording), you can edit the event, add text to the Title, Location or Notes fields, even adjust the Start time. Only thing you can’t edit is the End time, except by tapping [STOP], which stamps whatever time it is now as the End time. Then you could go back and edit the End field, if you want to, contracting or expanding the Event Wedge.
Recording an event in the now more accurately reflects the actual occurrence of events instead of their scheduled (anticipated) occurrence; documenting “what is” instead of what is “supposed to be.” Scheduled events don’t always begin and end when they are scheduled to begin and end.
Recording an event in the now encourages you to have more presence in you life. The more you use MONAD to record the events making up your life, the more you will see the patterns of your life, and until you make these patterns conscious, you will not be able to change them. If you want to make healthy changes in your life, first get a handle on what your life looks like, in planet-centered space-time.
Both Health and Scheduled events can be recorded in the now. You can schedule regular events in the future, but Health Events cannot be created or moved into the future; only in the now or in the past.

Record and Schedule Regular, Calendar Events.
Tap the Calendar button (between [Eat] and [Move]) to get to Schedule Mode for ordinary Calendar events. Import your ordinary calendars into MONAD and make them extraordinary.
Regular Event Mode still needs a bit of programming to get it fully operational. The Stage 2 Prototype only allows you to import one Calendar (‘Work’ in this case) at a time. Eventually you will be able to select, import and display four different color coded, regular calendars like ‘Work’, ‘Sport’, ‘Church’, ‘Home’, etc.
Our goal for Stage 3 programming is to make the MONAD Event Manager the only scheduling program you will ever need. Weekly, Monthly & Yearly calendars will be integrated into this analog – digital format. All Day Events will have their own special screen and serve as important Index headings to your history of events. And our modular organization of data will add an unprecedented “Roots and Branches” feature, which will make it easy to search and find anything in your archive of memory.
If you want to get back to Health Event Mode, tap the Heart-in-a-circle Symbol. And, by the way, it’s not obvious how to get out of Event Mode into a different Mode, like Astro Mode. If you want to explore one of the other 3 Modes, pinch the screen to get to Astro Mode.

Create Complex Event Records.
Eventually (Stage 3 programming) you will be able to create very complex, well organized Event records (an archive), adding photos, videos, a record of phone calls and financial transactions related to the event, links to people, places and other events. Just Tap the Tall button and the Event Screen drops down (“Short” to “Tall”) to reveal all the details of an event; you may need to scroll through the event if it’s well documented.
For instance, if I was recording a business lunch, I would link the client [People] with the purchase [ $ ] of the meal as a business expense. If I take a picture [Camera] of the meal, a thumbnail photo would show up next to the button. If I make a phone call [Phone] on behalf of my client, a record of the call would show up next to that button.
MONAD is already set up to be voice activated; just tap the microphone button (in Event Edit Mode) and talk to your phone and fill in the selected event fields, and you can create as detailed a memory aid as you require.
