MONAD, Stage 4.
Our long range goal for MONAD is to make it the ultimate educational and organizational device on Earth. After we complete MONAD Stage 3 we will start work on the following more advanced features:
- Add Scientific Astrology & Astronomy programs. Add educational modules explaining various physics and astronomy subjects.
- Add a “Calendar-Clock Radio,” which plays the “music of the spheres,” 24 hours a day, commercial free. Each planet is assigned a tone modulated by the proximity and configuration of the Sun, Moon and other planets.
- Add various lunar features. Show the lunar pathway relative to the ecliptic. (The orbital plane of the Moon is tilted 5.1º relative to the plane of the ecliptic and the lunar nodes precess along the ecliptic at a rate of 1.4º every lunar cycle of 29.5 days.) Demonstrate eclipses, both lunar and solar. Add a tidal indicator.
- Add Sidereal Mode (the location of the equinoctial nodes maintains a fixed orientation). Useful for demonstrating precession of the equinoctial nodes, where the starry skies rotate around the precession axis at a rate of one complete revolution every 24,600 years. The constellations (star groupings) along the ecliptic move away from the equinoctial nodes and advance from one sign of the zodiac (30º segment of the ecliptic) to the next approximately every 2000 years. Includes a “Century Dial” with the star Regulus as Indicator.
- Add a Time Zone feature. Show the 25 time/date zones in the space between the surface of Earth and the Number Dial.
- Add a Full Planetary Dial, to include comets, satellites, the Kuiper belt and other interesting astronomical features. Add the ability to Zoom in on the surface of the Earth Globe, and from the surface look out at the stars.
- Add the ability to customize the appearance of the Calendar-Clock, with a choice of signs of the zodiac, fonts, colors, appearance of the Earth globe, etc.
- Add the ability to place “pins” all around the Earth Globe, representing family & friends.
- Model the Earth’s hydrosphere in motion and add gobal weather patterns. And local weather.
- Add a Magnetosphere.
- Add a selection of Calendar-Bands: Chinese, Moslem, Jewish, Mayan, etc.
- Add time and date-telling celestial rings for all the planets.
- Permanently record personal travel, or any notable displacement of the hour hand. Include a tiny airplane that takes off and lands, across time zones.
- Offer various historical records, including the ancient history of the calendar. Different histories are shown depending on the location of the hour hand.
- Set up virtual worlds, on this and all the planets, of this and other solar systems.
